    Good point. However, I agree with him about expats being "spectators" in their host countries. If we don't like the music we can just switch channels: move elsewhere when things get hot, or the exchange rate is unfavorable. There are immigrants, and then there are expats - two entirely...

    Inland from Colonia can be fiendishly hot. Better stay near the coast. No matter where you go everything is packed in January, when Argentines flee town in a frenzied pack, much like lemmings. February is much calmer, and cheaper as well.

    Goodness.... what a glamorous life, zipping around the Mediterranean getting glasses in Morocco and dental implants in Turkey...! Feel ashamed to admit that I got my glasses in San Isidro and my single dental implant in Cordoba and Pueyrredon.

    Must confess that I'm no fan of "dulce de leche", which is hard to get away from here. Whatever is not made of DDL, it has some slapped on, or mixed in.
