    Disappointed with Food in Argentina

Prices in the "interior" are higher than in Montevideo. I regularly order from Tienda Inglesa or Devoto - better stuff, and slightly lower prices. Delivered by bus package service to the local bus station. In Rosario, Colonia, grocery prices at the local, second-rate TaTa chain are twice what...

How's everyone hanging in there with the cost of living these days?

Quite agree. The current situation is alarming for those paid in dollars. The one bright spot is for the lucky souls who invested in the USA stock market, which took off like a rocket last year. But,,,,,,, it could still fizzle. Myself, I fear the Biblical seven years of fat cows are over...

I need to vent. Fatal shootings in Minnesota

Why waste time responding to ksm76's rants? Those pathetic souls need to deal with their demons on their own - let's pray that some day they find their peace. Sad to live in such a terrifying, hostile world.

    The Senior Apartments

Lovely place but fiendishly expensive, too. A friend ended up at place in Villa Ballester. An older building, beautifully maintained, with great service, and a beautiful park. But even out there in the boondocks. a single room with private bathroom was over three thousand dollars per month.

    The Senior Apartments

I looked at one of those facilities in Nuñez. Efficiency apartments started at US 6000 per month. PLUS additional fees for doctors, medication supervision, and diapers if needed. The whole thing came to almost eight thousand dollars.

Thanks for the replies. Seems to me that ICE agents are anonymous, unidentifiable, and therefore free to act with impunity. They should be required to wear body cameras, like policemen do.

Going back to Minnesota, does anyone know why ICE people wear masks? Or how they are recruited/trained, if indeed they are trained at all?

A combination of several right and left-leaning reputable newspapers. They all have agendas, which cancel each other out. For instance, consider the Wall Street Journal and the New York times. It is amazing how different they make the same news sound.

Quite comfortable under the rock, getting my news from several mainstream media sources spread all over the bias spectrum. Won't you consider joining me? Of course, it's a bit more work than getting "news" from social media, and it does require a certain IQ level.
