    Half tostado!?

Just as maddening as so-called French Fries in the US. Unrelated to France.

    Half tostado!?

Sometimes a full tostado is too much. I, for one, welcome the 1/2 tostado option

    Tipping culture in Argentina

True, as Rich one said, each building is an universe....! My building is a bare-bones operation, light-years from Antipodean's fancy building. No bringing cars to the front, no chief portero plus assistant porteros, no Chrismas tree in the lobby. As a matter of fact, no lobby, either...

Would rather give him a cash bonus - he deserves it. Money is far more appreciated than those gift boxes. Specially this year.

How's everyone hanging in there with the cost of living these days?

Ah, hindsight....! A USA realtor once told me that the best time to buy a house always is "yesterday".

How's everyone hanging in there with the cost of living these days?

I considered locking the spare, but was told it was useless as thieves can cut across chains and locks - they carry the tools they need. They are real pros, familiar with car models and spare tire resale values. Instead, I keep the spare in the laundry room, and rely on ACA's tire-repair...

How's everyone hanging in there with the cost of living these days?

The spare is stored under the floor, in the back. The thieves just broke a rear window twice to get to it. Once, while parked in front of my house with the guard's booth a few meters away, and a second time while I parked for ten minutes in an Olivos residential street. Also with a guard in...

How's everyone hanging in there with the cost of living these days?

The problem with imported cars is that spare parts are terribly expensive. My Japanese Toyota side mirror was U$S 760 to replace. The spare wheel complete with tire, costs over U$S 2,000 - it was stolen twice, and the insurance paid for it, but I don't know how many more times the ACA will...

How's everyone hanging in there with the cost of living these days?

My apartment's insane expense bill for this month is 348,677.02 pesos. Those two cents feel like a slap in the face. True, it is on a very pretty block, but we have no SUM, no pool, no security, and only 1/2 a portero - we share him with the building next door.

Wishful thinking...? Hard to believe the Fat Cows years are over, and we are entering a Thin Cows period.
