Argentina's continued collapse by another Redditor in June 2023

Most expats here own/rent a decent property or properties in good areas and live comfortably and do not fear inflation. That puts them in the 1%.

Argentina's New Boeing 757 Presidential Jet Arrives In Style

[ 1-Brand new totally unnecessary jet 2-Irresponsible cocky manouveur upon delivery If that doesn't say 'F### you plebs!' I don't know what does. A 40 year old Embraer tuboprop would have been more suitable.

Argentina's New Boeing 757 Presidential Jet Arrives In Style

So Argentine lol. I can imagine the pilot had a couple of shirt buttons undone, one foot on the centre console.. Was Vicky La Griega in the cabin?

What is more “third world” - Buenos Aires or San Francisco

It's funny how the US is becoming a more chaotic, and economically and politically challenging, place to live - basically becoming like Argentina and yet Argentina is 'better'? Being lucky enough to be retired on a US pension/ living on a secure higher than average salary and living in a...

99% loss of value in peso in my time, momentous day

Unlike some here who live in their bohemian middle class bubbles I know very well how the ordinary working class are suffering in Argentina especially those 'en negro'. It's insulting to the majority to say Argentines have it better than Americans. The US is in decadence and things have no...

Seeing all these old beautiful mansions in Belgrano R is depressing

Many of these properties are multi ownership within a family with ongoing disputes of ownership or it's vague who actually owns it so the 'owners' don't want to invest money in it in case they lose property down the line. Or people inherit house and simply don't have money to maintain it.

    Who Will Win in 2023?

8 years or less to see the benefits of major political reform. 20 years / a generation to change the culture where people don't fall back easily to the old ways.

Cost of living: Argentina sees prices almost doubling last year

Some posters wear rose tinted glasses...Inflation -universally- affects the poorest the most and whilst the exact causes might be hard to identify or proportion the results are not.

How has this country not imploded?

US and UK sports violence - kind of like when Antifa and BLM et all rampaged through Dem cities a few years ago and the Dems did nothing. It's not as if Argentina doesn't have a history of violence and unrest... But yeah it was amazingly peaceful considering. It was close to getting...

How has this country not imploded?

Yesterday was so close to going spectacularly wrong and morphing into a mass uprising against the economy and government. The politicians knew that and thats why they kept quiet as possible. The players/AFA already snubbed them. The authorities were utterly powerless. I was curious at the...

Why doesn’t Argentina have more Black players in the World Cup?

Progressive left msm is dying. Wapo lost 500,000 subscribers this year. With pieces like this I'm not surprised.

2 tourists shot outside Faena Hotel P. Madero

For all the US's societal decadence the risk of violent crime/death in Argentina is not less than in the US. Anywhere in BA at any time of day is a no go area if you don't have your wits about you. There is a problem with how easily mentally unstable people can get hold of guns in the US but...

The Ghost of Peronism: Why Argentina Keeps Making the Same Mistakes

Maybe it's an American thing but noone in Europe confuses socialism with social democracy. I'm pretty sure you knew what I meant by using the words communism and socialism in same context that are for the most part interchangeable. Biden also loves the progressive post modernist world. But...

The Ghost of Peronism: Why Argentina Keeps Making the Same Mistakes

I guess words no longer have any meaning ...thanks to the progressive post modernist world we are living in. If I want communism and socialism to mean the same thing then they will. If someone disagrees with me I'll have then cancelled for denying 'my truth'. lol. Hopefully the next Democrat...

The Ghost of Peronism: Why Argentina Keeps Making the Same Mistakes

Argentina is essentially communist. When people depend more economically and spiritually on the State than their family and community then they are living under socialism. The US is in rapid decline as socialism takes hold and surprise surprise it's becoming more like Argentina by the day.

Argentina's Falklands obsession thrives 40 years after war

La Campana del Desierto in Argentina began barely a couple of months after Britain reestablished authority on the Islands. You choose not to see the hypocrisy of calling Britain a usurper on 'Argentine' soil while Argentina is a country created by colonialism with ongoing tensions with the...

Argentina's Falklands obsession thrives 40 years after war

That is why you cant have a rational debate with a Malvinista because its a religion. Its not a rationally justified cause, and will always turn to whataboutism as a result. Always. Argentina was doing what you are criticising the immoral British for doing so whats your point? Instead of...
