The Business Channels here in the US say that Argentina is in VERY BIG trouble, their currency crashed today, and people are starting to talk about Argentina defaulting on their debt AGAIN. How bad is it in BA?

I will take Spanish lesson at either place. Looking for safety and a cool city to learn Spanish Which city would you pick and why? Or would a city in Spain be better?

I have never been to South America but would really like the truth on the safety and economic situation there. I am looking at a 2 month vacation and was going to live in BA for a month. I have been told no Rolexes, nice stuff, etc, intermediate Spanish skills. Thanks for input.
