    Aerolíneas discontinues flights to NYC

Looks like Aerolíneas will no longer fly to NYC starting in August, leaving only 2 carriers (American and Delta) with that route. Not sure if prices will tick up as a result, but currently Avianca is flying to NYC via Bogota for $620 (bare bones economy) which is lowest I’ve seen for years...

Immigrating to the US with Argentine spouse?

You cannot convert a tourist visa to a green card - so don’t travel to US and apply there - it will get rejected (your tourist visa does not give you the right to apply for permanent residency). You will need to stay in Argentina and apply from there.

    Boise, Idaho anyone?

Boise and Raleigh couldn’t be more different! I’ve spent time in both areas - Idaho in general is much more rural - although Boise is the largest “city” in Idaho, you will probably find it quite small and not very diverse. It does have a strong Basque connection with a lrge group of folks...

    Restaurants in Palermo

I just returned from BA and Pinamar - my first trip in 2 years. Were the prices higher - sure, but still relatively cheap compared to the US. We didn’t eat at super fancy restaurants, but had some great meals - two that stood out were Roldán and Quaotidiano. I never paid more than $20 per...

US Tourist - which exchange rate for credit cards?

Thanks so much - very helpful. It’s been 2 years since I’ve been back to Argentina, but this is a game changer for me on this trip - will limit how much cash I need to carry around and exchange!

US Tourist - which exchange rate for credit cards?

Quick question. My wife and I are traveling to Argentina in late December to visit family. While we do plan on bringing dollars to exchange at a cueva, there will be times where it is more convenient for me to use my Visa card - that said, I don’t want to get too screwed on the exchange rate...

Suggestions needed - what to bring to US

Thanks, lots of good suggestions! Chimi - well, my Argentine wife makes her own chimi so that we don’t need. Bizcochitos de grasa Don Satur was a good suggestion as well - but we can get those here in NYC. Truth is the stuff we really miss isn’t going to travel well - Medialunas de grasa -...

Suggestions needed - what to bring to US

Hi all, One of our nieces is visiting us from BA - we live in NYC. She always brings us a few things from Argentina that we can’t get here, but usually these are sweets like alfajores/titas/bonafide,etc. Since we are already well stocked on those, does anyone have suggestions on what to bring...

It’s official Joe Biden becomes the 46 President of the United States.

Hahahaha!! That was the craziest news conference I’ve seen! Crazy Rudy sweating brown hair dye down both cheeks; outlining a grand conspiracy orchestrated across the country; and then invoking communists, Venezuela and Hugo Chavez!! OMG, that was hilarious! SNL could not have written a...

It’s official Joe Biden becomes the 46 President of the United States.

If you just spent 10 min on the internet, you can find rather detailed accounting of Joe Biden’s income sources and net worth - most coming from post VP time with book proceeds and speaking engagements. You know why it’s so easy to find? Because Biden has been open kimono on his financial...

It’s official Joe Biden becomes the 46 President of the United States.

Hahaha! Hilarious! Trump declared a rigged election prior to 2016 - then when he realized he was winning it was “the people have spoken”. Now that he knows he got his butt kicked, it’s phony and rigged again (except for the house and senate seats won by republicans - those votes were legit)...

It’s official Joe Biden becomes the 46 President of the United States.

Polls may have been wrong, but I think a 74 electoral vote spread, as well as a 5.5 million and counting popular vote margin count as quite a material loss for Trump. It’s the same electoral vote margin he beat Hillary, which he classified as a landslide (and he lost the popular vote then too!).

It’s official Joe Biden becomes the 46 President of the United States.

Trump lost...and not by a small amount. All of the rest of this is theater orchestrated by Trump and his family. He is, as of this morning, 0 for 12 in his lawsuits. Yes, you can argue he is within his rights to file lawsuits. But he and his administration are doing long lasting damage to...
