    hello, just joined the forum

$100 a day for a painter? If they worked M - F that would be 2k a month. Entry level engineers don't even make that. Andrew, I changed my mind you can come down here and sucker some expats into paying you good wages :D

    Vastly amusing hypocrisy

This is really funny. They literally wrote the article to highlight a guy who is scamming the system, yet still go along with his scam in a sense. They are afraid that if they called him Eduardo in the article people would tell them to move to Alabama, even though it's clear this guy did it for...

Bitcoin / Crypto to USD to buy property

I know people use Binance p2p a lot here, but surprised that it is even being proposed for real estate transactions. If I was in your position, I get the opinion of other people working the industry to make sure that when you want to sell the property at some point in the future this isn't...

    hello, just joined the forum

I wouldn't tell you don't come, or it could never work. You just need to know the reality, and then decide if you really want to do it. 1. You'll need some type of visa to stay here long term. You are extremely unlikely to get one for something related to manual labor. You'll need to get a...

When was the last time Argentina was expensive?

The US Fed is raising rates this year 1 to 3 times. The IMF already put out a warning to emerging markets, get ready for pain. The peso isn't coming back against the dollar, despite what some on the board predicted would happen if Joe Biden was elected president.

Investments 2022 Dollars ? , Pesos ? or Stocks Merval.?

USD. At the moment, the US Federal Reserve forecasts growth of their balance sheet to slow down to zero, and if they don't re-invest the maturing bonds, their balance sheet will contract. Growth of balance sheet to zero and interest rate hike one to three times. That means money supply is...

Buenos Aires seems safer and nicer than Los Angeles, what happened to the United States?

I think he was referring to me because I said on the brink sounded like a triggered boomer. I agree with your general assessment Ries. Although I think you give the younger generation, those of us in our 30s, too much credit. I don't know if we'll do any better. Let's hope.

Buenos Aires seems safer and nicer than Los Angeles, what happened to the United States?

I agree - I think that can be true, plus it can have many issues that cause problems too. That someone brings up some of those problems doesn't mean they are tired cliches and that the person is some anti-american zealot. "Wages don't cover asset inflation from monetary inflation. There is a...

Buenos Aires seems safer and nicer than Los Angeles, what happened to the United States?

What's wrong? - Healthcare is broken, and bankrupts people. - Significant drug problem specifically opioid related, limited treatment programs. Health problem is criminalized. - Monetary inflation causes asset inflation, pricing out working and middle class from owning assets. Wages don't...

Buenos Aires seems safer and nicer than Los Angeles, what happened to the United States?

Pretty accurate in my opinion. Monetary inflation over the years has pumped the value of assets, but not wages. That's why you could buy a house on a firefighters salary in the 40s, but not today.

Argentina Pitches Its Weak Currency to Attract Digital Nomads

As far as I know, yes, but that still isn't a solution for remote digital workers who prefer to stay in locations for longer than 6 months.

Argentina Pitches Its Weak Currency to Attract Digital Nomads

I mean yeah it's a good place for digital nomads, but the governments campaign pretty much consists of a sube and sim card with some promotional literature. At the moment there is no visa that allows a digital nomad to stay longer than 3 months, and apparently the visa run to Colonia isn't as...

    Border closures vOmicron?

Careful how you talk about regions of the world, covid, and how it may affect Argentina. You'll get responses like the one below... "This is the first really stupid post I have seen on this board. It is pure fear mongering. Almost racist. (next will the author will suggest an internment camp...

    Returning after overstaying visa

Hefty $50 fine lol. Unless something changed regarding overstays since covid, then overstaying once shouldn't cause you any issues. Once you overstay many times or do border runs for years and years then you start to push your luck, I imagine even more so during covid times.
