    Citizenship requirements

I will add, you don't need a local Argentine income (whether a regular job, or a monotributo). If you work online overseas, you can certify your foreign income via an accountants certificate here, that's what I did for my citizenship application.

    SIM Card shows no signal

I would only recommend that you buy a sim card at the official phone carrier stores. As usual, without a DNI things start going wonky. Personal at Alto Palermo and Claro at Alto Palermo will give you a SIM card and activate it with just a passport. Make sure you don't leave until it's working...

Any recent success stories obtaining temporary residence?

Well the actual amount is 5x the monthly minimum wage which is going up and down, so check beforehand. But the goal was to approximate around $2k USD per month

Any recent success stories obtaining temporary residence?

I've talked to expats that have been living here for 15+ years just overstaying. When you leave you pay an administrative fee of ~$30 USD (at todays rates). The fee is fixed no matter how long you've overstayed. They'll go back to the US, do whatever they need to do and then come back as a...

Taxi rates. Am I being scammed?

Ubers are available but much more expensive than Didis in my experiences. Cabs have been honest with me, I never had an issue other than the taxis from the airport which do scam you every chance they get.

Taxi rates. Am I being scammed?

That is true, the late night rides are more expensive. Protip, use the app called "Didi". I'll use taxis from time to time when it's convenient. But late at night, long distance or from the airport I only use Didi as it's much cheaper

Any recent success stories obtaining temporary residence?

Rentista visas they are asking the ~2k usd per month per person. So if it's you and your wife that's $4k per month (plus or minus depending on the current minimum wage and exchange rate). What is your goal? If you just want to come live here you don't need any visas, just show up as a tourist...

Options - extended 90 days and plan to overstay 180

I am still here on tourist status (overstayed at that) and I didn't have any issue regarding my visa status when renting. The garantia or seguro de caucion on the other hand I did have landlords ask about, but if you actually live here you should be able to manage finding an apartment without an...

Senators just got a raise to 9 million ARS per month

Well paid politicians are not necessarily a bad thing. See example from Singapore https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/in-his-own-words-higher-pay-will-attract-most-talented-team-so-country-can-prosper

Anybody tried to open a bank account online without DNI, but with a CDI?

I wouldn't recommend Galicia, even if you can open the account the online banking doesn't work. So you can't pay your utility bills online or make transferencias. Basically useless

    Gym - Walkable from Chacarita

That was indeed per month, that's why I was gobsmacked. The Alto Palermo branch was just ok, not even luxury or anything like that. I had Lifetime Fitness in USA for the same price, those are some really nice gyms in comparison

How an Argentine Can Get a Bank Account in the USA

I think you'd have a good chance at one of the larger banks in the US (Chase, BoA etc), small community banks definitely not as a tourist only. I know someone that opened an account at Chase with no SSN and not even an ITIN

Residency in Paraguay? Interesting. I'd invite you to the weekly Tuesday coffee chat if you're in BA, I think there's some useful discussion to be had about how things work here, I'd be interested in how your process in Paraguay went
