Pedantic Questions about Marriage and Migrations

Hey all, I've been having a tough time finding details on the more pedantic details around getting married in Argentina and was wondering if anyone had personal experience or knew anything. I'll just list below in-case anyone would like to take a stab at them. Looking into starting lawyer...

No DNI - ATM withdraws with QR Code - Better than Blue Rate

To access the bank related features, yea you need some kind of ID verification (I think a lot of ID types work). Minding can make an account with no info, but to turn on anything that interacts with a bank you legally need to do some level of KYC. But if your going full off-grid libertarian...

No DNI - ATM withdraws with QR Code - Better than Blue Rate

Hey all, This is kind of a follow up regarding that "Peanut" payment app I posted about a bit ago. I noticed on the company's twitter that someone mentioned the app could be used to withdraw effectivo directly at ATMs and thought I'd document my testing of that for the forum. So, seems there...

    Changes to Migrations Site/Residency

I think I'm seeing it different on this page, but yea, that's what I recalled it being last too. https://www.argentina.gob.ar/servicio/obtener-un-permiso-de-ingreso-temporario-como-rentista-o-pensionado

    Changes to Migrations Site/Residency

Hey all, I was just doodling around re-reading the government websites, as one does, and noticed they may be changing the wording and rules for the residency applications. Main example, residency through spouse, we know last year's decree made spouse based residency go from permanent to 1 yr...

My Experience Getting the Rentista Visa in 2025

Thanks for sharing the process. Question on the apostille items; did the time limit for background checks ever come up? I've seen some sites say the background check needs to be apostilled and provided within 3 months of the check issue date but it seemed inconsistent.

Entry to Argentina - October 2025 - Nomad Visa - Duty Free

For application while not in Argentina, I've never needed anything to be officially translated or apostatized. It runs through the embassy local to your region and they can work bi-lingual. Just for convenience though, everything self-made like the resume I sent in with one page English and one...

New payment method - better than dollar blue (no DNI)

Ha, that's a pretty bad look. I couldn't find a lot online about it on my end. Going to treat it like a dave & buster's card and only load cash onto it for direct use. I did meet him and a support staff-er at the convention helping set up the accounts. Maybe they're just meme-ing on each other...

New payment method - better than dollar blue (no DNI)

Hey all, This will be a longer ramble post, so feel free to ping me with any questions or if I'm missing any details. (tldr: new payment app better than using western union, no DNI needed, pay by QR code) So; I went to the dev-connect convention in Palermo over the weekend and saw some of...

Entry to Argentina - October 2025 - Nomad Visa - Duty Free

Hey, so I haven't put it to the test but it does clearly say on the visa "Entradas Multiples: SI" So I'd have to guess as long as you keep copies of the visa, and proof that you already entered the country using it (since first entry is only valid for 3 months from issue) it'd be good to roam...

Entry to Argentina - October 2025 - Nomad Visa - Duty Free

I'd say the DNV is a waste of time and money for most people. I'm personally extremely risk adverse and; didn't feel comfortable with visa running to Uruguay (after the last time caught some hard flack with the staff) overstaying (just feel it's to risky and may have side effects later on)...

Entry to Argentina - October 2025 - Nomad Visa - Duty Free

Hey all, Nothing all that interesting, I just wanted to archive my last international entry into the country since people are always looking to gauge how things are processing. Arrived at EZE via international flight Had visa/permit for digital nomad (6 month/renewable) Entire passport process...

Landed in BA 3 days ago. I'm lost

I feel ya on the nature to city shock. Coming from the Adirondack Mountain region of NY, part of me always misses the dead silence you can't find CABA. Now, just as my opinion, it's definitely important to be careful with phones and valuables; but I've been in city for around three years and...

    DNU Reform Question

Hey all, Just saw a headline about the DNU reform bill possibly moving on to the lower house for voting. I was curious to hear everyone's speculation about it since there have been so many decrees in the last two years. *IF*, the reform goes through and they raise the burden for executive...

New in town - looking for poker partners

Hey, I might be up for something like this. I've always wanted to jump in on some of the immigrant/expat groups that organize on here, but can never make them with working a 9-5. Not in the city year round, but could really use something to fill the time when my fiance visits her folks (can...

Digital Nomad Visa as of July

Hey all, Technicalities of what the best visa options are aside, I just finished the nomad visa process again and wanted to share the process update for for everyone's future reference. General Timeline: Applied online the 6th, got an email saying to call the local embassy to pay a fee the...

Need advice on digital nomad visa vs work visa

Dang, was that with the embassy team or the headquarters team? Or do you mean it got lost on the very first step, that would be embassy team. They are difficult, I had to call day after day to get to someone to pay the second fee. Not big on answering emails or voicemails.

Need advice on digital nomad visa vs work visa

From what I can tell you can only do it from outside still. Just curious, how did you find out your application got lost? They do seem to be running a bit slower than I remember, wondering if there is anywhere to badger after the embassy is done with their part of the process.
