    Residential Housing noise ordinance?

We had the same issue and alerted the building admin, who informed the unit owner. He managed to get rid of the guy. This happened 2-3 times since he started renting his units short term (AirBnB and the like). He doesn't live in CABA so he can't know if his tenants are being inconsiderate.

Surcharge for using a foreign card at a restaurant

It is actually illegal to apply a surcharge depending on the payment method. Most places offer a cash discount, instead. This should be also illegal, according to the law (the price is the same, regardless of the payment method), but still sounds sweeter to get a discount than to get a...

US Tax: Do I need to report earnings of my Argentine wife?

I file mine as married filing separately. I am happy to share my CPA's contact in private. He has lived here in the past so he is familiar with Argentina, too.

FOR RENT (Palermo Hollywood) - 7th floor, 1br/1bath Fast WiFi

My current tenant is going back to the States and I am looking for a new occupant starting from early March 2024. The property is currently listed on AirBnB for March, only, as I'd rather find someone locally and rent it on a monthly basis (or weekly). It can be viewed on March 2-3, 2024...

Finding a great 3 month rental apartment

I wholeheartedly agree. I think Argentina has its own challenges that are hard to grasp on paper. You have to have lived here to grasp the extent of them. Thanks, @earlyretirement for sharing your wisdom on the forum.

Finding a great 3 month rental apartment

I have read a few books on the topic and joined a couple of FB groups for hosts (mostly US-based, but one for "anfitriones" in Buenos Aires). I have watched several YouTube channels by "Airbnb Gurus" such as Sean Rakidzich, Robuilt, Lydia Patel. Several hosts report that they have...

Finding a great 3 month rental apartment

We have purchased a property for STR in Palermo Hollywood (it will be on the market in November) but after months of research on Airbnb, I am very reluctant in advertising my property on that platform. AirBnB cares about their profits, and they do not protect hosts from false claims that lead to...

Finding a great 3 month rental apartment

This is not true. Airbnb is a US-based company and their prices are set in USD. How the host gets paid depends on how and where he choose to be paid out. If they set up a bank account in Argentina, they receive the equivalent amount in pesos at the official rate, and this is not Airbnb's fault...

    Who are buying houses?

1- that's my experience, too 2- that's up to 4%, and usually most agents go for the full 4%. Mine wrote 3%, then "forgot" and asked for 4%, but I held to 3%. 3- they want a refuerzo to show commitment. If your escribano finds anything wrong with the papers, you can get your refuerzo back and...

Foreign credit cards purchases at MEP rate

So, should we worry that VISA/Mastercard/AMEX will get tired to get the short end of the stick, sooner or later? I am about to embark in the same kind of shopping spree and I was considering paying with my foreign credit cards. Pro: - I don't get tracked locally for my purchase (I would...

Rentals. The most controversial points of the law that the Senate could approve

I agree with @Jteee . Latin America is the short term B plan of many westerners and Buenos Aires hasn't much competition in terms of metropolis in South America. People want the freedom to move around and make experiences. STRs give them this opportunity. Who invests in STRs makes their bet to...
