    No imported foods anymore????

I thought it was local but when I asked the supermarket manager, he said it was imported and they would not be able to restock. There's a phone number and email for the company it's made for (which is local) so will try and contact them this week...

    Company Paying-Where To Live?

I don't think it would be very pleasant working and living in Puerto Madero. It's quite barren, esp. in winter, and there's nothing there for kids (I don't know if that's applicable).

    No imported foods anymore????

I thought it was just a case of tax hikes since despite a thread on this a while back, there were still imported foods at Disco, Carrefour et al. However, today my local Chinese supermarket manager told me he spoke to suppliers and manufacturers of Dame Mani peanut butter and it would no longer...

    Company Paying-Where To Live?

Your join date is two years ago, jb5, why do you need our advice? Some of the people advising you seem to have been here much less time than you. So what's the deal, is this for real?

Trying to make CORNBREAD (need help)

Harina leudante is self-raising flour. You need to get "polvo para hornear" usually in a red tub or packet with the brand ROYAL on the front. For cornmeal, yes, buy a bag of polenta. My husband makes cornbread all the time, he told me to soak the polenta in the milk for a bit as it is grittier...

Calling all Padres: Restaurants with play areas?

McDonads and Burger King have them, I know they're not "restaurants" but the play areas are good. Galerias Pacifico on Florida and Cordoba downtown have one with lego and drawing stuff in the food court.

    Passport woes for Newborns

Nikad, all I found was this confirmation that DNI was required: "Siempre debés llevar tu DNI.......Si sos menor de 16 años debés concurrir acompañado por alguno de tus padres y presentar tu DNI y tu partida de nacimiento."

What do you like here in BA?

I love the old buildings, especially the ones with faces on them, the local stores - panaderias, librerias, kioscos, cafes....the undercurrent of gossip, the flirting at street-corners, the way second-hand stuff retains its value, the excitement of inflation, the drifts of tango music in...
