Buenos Aires design, shopping malls and fashion are very stylish like the Italians do. The Pizza is amazing too. Perhaps it should be called Little Italy

Having just left Rome after living in the Trastevere area I was struck by how the local people reminded me of Portenos in terms of personality and friendliness. More so than my experience living in Spain. Pizza was superb too ! Seems to me the Portenos are more Italian than Spanish. Thoughts?

Loved Sao Paulo too and could live there quite happily.......plenty culture and things to do........but its big city vibe with no beaches and not like living beachside in Leblon Rio

I lived in Leblon for 5 years and never had an issue or felt threatened. Not to say that there are not risks but they do tend to get exaggerated in the media. Barra de Tijuca is too boring a place for me. Not much to do there and nothing like Leblon or Ipanema is.

If you stay in safe areas and use common sense when out and about it’s fine. I Don’t drive around the Favellas in my Ferrari for sure
