    Overstaying The 90 Day Visa

Experience last week: Migraciones in downtown refused to extend/grant another 90-day visa for "perma-tourist" with lots of stamps for arriving in Argentina. Migraciones offered two options: Leave the country and come back in, or pay at the airport. Cost is 300 ars, whether you extend at the...

    Overstaying The 90 Day Visa

Searching for very recent experience on this. Arrival in Mendoza was a few days before the tasa de reciprocidad took effect so we don't have receipts. Does anyone know, if we go to the Migraciones office to get another 90-day visa, if they will demand this of us? Also, are we sure that the fee...

    New Reciprocity Rules

I have read that the new rules, requiring U.S. citizens and others to pay the reciprocity fee to enter Argentina in advance, by Internet, are the following: That they are in effect in EZE and AEP on Dec. 28 and in other points of entry January 7. Can anyone confirm if these dates are correct...

    Aduana Problems?

I am hearing stories about problems bringing various items into the country, including vitamins and electronics. Has anyone had problems? Ended up paying duty on things such as your own cell phone or a laptop for a friend? How much duty? Thanks for your stories.

    Resident Pensioner Income

Searching for real-life stories: 1.It looks to me from this--http://www.migraciones.gov.ar/accesible/?tramitacion_temporaria as if a pensioner must arrange to have the pension received in Argentina, supposedly in a bank. (Check the part about "revenue collection.") Is that anyone's experience? I...

    Pensionista, Rentista

What I found online seems to say that the rentista must actually put the money into an Argentine bank, but the pensionista just has to certify that he/she receives the monthly amount. Is that your understanding?

    Pensionista, Rentista

I apologize if these answers are buried somewhere in another thread. Does anyone have the current, specific money figures for what is required for a pensionista residency, and/or a rentista residency? With a link, that would be great. I saw somewhere the the requirement for rentista has gone up...

Mendoza bus to Santiago in August?

We've also been pretty bored by Santiago in the past. However, on last trip we hung out in the Lastarria neighborhood, lots of street life, restaurants, galleries, etc. and liked it a lot. It's adjacent to the Gabriela Mistral cultural center. If you are into fashion, celebs, rock and pop...

Mendoza bus to Santiago in August?

In August, all you can do is just keep checking on the forecast. Today's forecast, for example calls for very high winds through Tuesday. That can mean vehicles lined up at the pass for a long time or buses not taking the trip. If you go to weather dot com and search Punta de Vacas you can get...

    Wine and airplanes

We also have brought into the US at least 6, maybe as many as 10 bottles, at a time. We have declared them and Customs has never even cared to look at them. However: TSA did! On a recent trip our checked luggage arrived on the conveyor belt trailing a wide river of Malbec. TSA had opened the bag...

    Tourist visas

Has anyone ever heard a specific citation of law regarding how many times you may enter Argentina on a tourist visa? If there is a limit to the number of times, what is the penalty for exceeding the limit? I hear comments from expats about being "warned" at the border about entering as tourists...

Two broad visa questions: Can anyone provide a link to authoritative info. on a pensionado visa? I know it exists, but can´t find it on the government site. Is it true that the law was changed to require proof of $2,000 USD entering Argentina every month? The other question is monotributista...
