Just found out that my aussie phone doesnt work here (wrong band) so was wondering if there were any shops that sold reliable second hand mobile phones?

You can try http://www.mercadolibre.com.ar/ when you are looking for a phone. An Aussie friend of mine bought a Motorola V3 a month ago using this Argentine equivalent to Ebay. I have a used Nokia 6061 if you are interested.
