Seems flights to/from the US may require that laptops be checked. If this extends to Argentina, there could be a lot of thievery at Ezeiza not to mention damage due to rough handling of bags.

Doubt it will be extended to Argentina... Although you never know - South America is one of the last places on earth that has minimal Islamic extremism infiltration. Lets hope it stays that way.

I saw this morning that someone had encountered a sign (in Nashville?) informing that only phones were allowed on international flights - no other electronics.

My take: This will have a huge boomerang effect on the airlines, as they must now be held accountable for baggage security.

Don't you know what happened to the AMIA and the Israeli embassy?

Yes I know. I was in BA at the time. Nevertheless, the incidents were horrific and can never be forgotten. There is still protection around synagogues and Jewish organizations. To what extent there is Islamic extremism it is impossible to say but it cannot be dismissed.
