Any Advice on Mexico City??

I just lived for a few months in Buenos Aires and was wondering how Mexico City compares. I'll be there soon and could use some advice, especially about living costs and how it compares to life in BA.

In BA I lived on about $1500 (American) per month and did so quite comfortably. I'm wondering if the costs are similar in Mexico City or how it compares...

Are the people there similar to Argentines in terms of friendliness? Are the girls friendly? Are there pleasant rural getaways nearby?
