The news out of Australia is tragic and the floods have worsened there and are now threatening Brisbane Australias third largest city. The scenes of devastation and loss of life are unprecedented in Australias history and the scale of this disater is apocalyptic with a area the size of France and Germany under water in Queensland Australias second largest Province.

The beautiful city of Toowomba just 80 kms from Brisbane was devastated by these floods with many dead and missing

It's terrible.
Many met people put this and other weather phenomena down to La Niña, which is particularly influential this year.

Its quite surreal here in BNE at the moment, most of us were not born during the '74 floods, or else certainly can't remember them... so this is the first time many of us have ever been through something like this.

Tomorrow is the day to watch... hopefully no life is lost like other parts of Queensland this week - 10 confirmed dead so far, 4 of those are children & 90 people missing. Terrible.

I hope the waters recede very soon and people there find the strength to overcome the damage.

Edit: I hope the waters recede very soon. People ALWAYS overcome damage. No hope needed there.

It's really an unimaginable tragedy. From the few interviews I watched they seemed well prepared, life loss is expected to rise but it certainly won't be another Kathrina. Hope to God they'll be on their feet as soon as feasible.
