Are there any regular or semi regular expat gatherings at restaurants or bars?

Hi All.

I have been visiting Argentina several times on average for over 20 years for both work and pleasure.

Just bought an apartment in Recoleta. Speak Spanish pretty well conversationally.

53 year old university grad and professional looking to meet fellow expats (males and/or couples) who enjoy social and maybe fishing. I have travels the country and Uruguay fishing.

Looking to spend approximately 3 - 6 months of retirement here coming and going on a tourist visa.

I love this city, but it’s a bit of a lonely place to be solo for over a week.

Anyway, if anyone can point me in the right direction. It would be great if there were some regular socials—or places frequently almost exclusively by English speaking expats.

Thanks in advance and happy new year to all!

There's a pretty regular "coffee chat" organized by members of the forum, though they're on a break until next week because of the holidays. Otherwise, Meetup is a great place to find social activities that are frequented by other foreigners.

I won't be there til February, but I am a devoted fisherman, and would definitely be interested in splitting the cost of a charter boat. Either deep sea or I am looking forward to learning how to catch those Golden Dorado I've been reading up on.
