Argentina inflation picked up slightly in February, in spite of President Javier Milei’s move to slow down the peso’s monthly depreciation.

So, no monetary issuance, chainsawed state, budget surplus, refinanced debt, and a devaluation of only 1% a month and the best we can get is annualized inflation of ~27.60%? Doesn't seem like it's really working or was worth all the ongoing suffering, but hey, I'm not the future Nobel Laureate Javier Milei.

If ever there was a good example of Newspeak, it would be “ disinflation stalled”
Its like an Austalian nickname- longer than the word it represents and less meaningful.

I was so sure that disinflation wasn't really a word that I went and looked it up. It is really a word! Just as reflation is subtly different from inflation so disinflation is to deflation. It implies an action.

These figures are ludicrous as inflation in pesos is vastly different that inflation in foreign currency . In 2024 inflation in us dollars was equal to all inflation in us dollars for 16 years . But hey the peso is a much stronger currency now and this happens to make this right LOL . I have no problems at all in people earning better salaries and having a dignified living but to be able to afford the costs of Argentina today people have to earn what Australians earn per hour and this is not going to happen real soon !
