Just saw on the local news, auto gas is going up 10%....what's next??

Gas prices are up around the world.

Canada’s annual rate of inflation rose for a second straight month in November, led by higher gasoline prices... gas prices were 14.1% higher in the month compared to November 2008.

The Bank of Canada has pledged to keeps its trendsetting interest rate at a record low 0.25% until mid-2010, unless there is a change in the inflation outlook.

Most economists had expected an overall inflation rate of 0.8% and a core rate of around 1.3%. The Bank of Canada’s target inflation rate is 2%.

which is amazing since they are producing as much oil as ever. the problem is not enough refineries. it's in the oil companies best interests to have as few refineries as possible.

Yeah it's also that Nestor Kirchner owns half the refineries and extraction companies are made to sign contracts with him...


Oh by the way... speaking of items getting more and more expensive -- heads up -- Handsets for mobile phones, are due to increase 25 - 35% in the next year. They are instigating a new law -- handsets must be produced in Argentina... in Tierra del Fuego... and by 14 pre-selected producers handpicked by the government. Hmm... aren't the Kirchners from down that way? Could it be that they have a personal financial interest in this matter?

So if you think the prices of phones down here are already ridiculous compared to the US or Asia, prepare to pay more next year!
