Wanted to find out from other members about an inexpensive auto insurance Broker:rolleyes:

Originally when purchased the car came with an insurance deal from LA CAJA Insurance, when tried to activate the policy, no DNI no luck, Pematourist.:(

Then was accepted by Zurich Insurance for six months, then cancelled because they could no longer accept International CC payments? was offered cash monthly payments with monthly rate adjustments..!

Have now moved to Liberty Insurance with cash monthly payments at a premium, on a 6 month contract with 15 % adjustment to renew.

You might look into Meridional. That's what I have. I got it 5 years ago when all I had was a passport. The dealership told me I'd have no problems anywhere and sent me to la Caja as well and it didn't work (do all dealerships have some of deal with them I wonder?)

The only question is whether or not requirements have changed, I don't know. But there was certainly no 15% increase to renew after six months.I got a discount for paying a year in advance (though I pay monthly now).

I pay around 250 pesos a month (started out at 212), but I also have a 1999 used car which accounts for the price.

Thanks ElQueso will contact Meridional. My current adjusted rate for Sept 2012 to March 2013 is $430/month on a model 2009 auto. Includes all risk and Hay coverage...!

do you have insurance agents here, who come to your house to do all the paper work and take the cheque/payments?

No to all the above, I pay cash at pago Facil, they don't accept international CC's. Cash payments are more expensive.
Insurance agents that come to your house, and accept personal checks for payment  Never heard of such a thing in Argentina:confused:

Since you are in Recoleta I suggest you go tot the Mapfre office in the 2100 block of Arenales. Sergio Monson and his brother run the office. You can get a policy with your passport.
