Banking in Uruguay

Hi all. I'm wondering if any of you have had experience with banking in Uruguay, and specifically at Banco República (BROU). I've received conflicting information about whether it's necessary to waive your right to the country's banking privacy laws as a foreign depositor, and I'm curious to know what others have encountered. Thanks!

Oh, and regarding experiences with Uruguayan banks --- HSBC sucks/Discount bank not so much... (in my experience).

And if you are planning to visit, just keep in mind that they open at 1 pm ...
