Hey all!

I would love your help on figuring out what would be the best way to experience the gaucho life while I am staying in BsAs. I was looking into some day tours that are about a hour and a half away from the city, include horse riding, an asado and transportation, however is $130 the normal price? Have any of you taken one of these tours or have any other experiences to share?

Please let me know!
Appreciate it :)

Nicole

Just go to the feria de Mataderos on the weekend and you'll get a taste of quite a bit of the same stuff for free. There won't be any cows though.

If you are around in November, El dia la tradicion is a national festival celebrating gaucho culture and there are events in many places, especially San Antonio de Areco.

The price you quoted for the day tour is not out of range since this is usually part of the tourist offerings in Argentina.

As a matter of fact the feria reopens tomorrow, Sunday, and I'm hoping to go in search of regional products and gifts at good prices as it was suggested to me.
