According to the NY Times hackers from Argentina are the top of the line in the Biz.
That's a new one on me.

i figured as much had my computer hacked several times here utilizing ingenious flaws both in windows and linux.

Sounds very believable to me, indeed here is a perfect environment for growing creativity :) Noticed that effect of this country on me as well. And can't say I don't like it.

Pure fantasy - what Argentine would ever work for a government?

But for money? ... Lots of money? ... Argentines?

Yeah, guess it's true. In fact, I know it's true - but in my case they bypassed the computer and directly hacked my brain (Yes, dear! Right away, dear!).

But its odd what you say, made me read some and found some interesting articles concerning the real technology that is out there. you would be surprised at the patents that have been issued for this technology!

I believe it all. On top of that, we can probably blame Cristina for at least part of this as well - when I came here the IT community was getting big, the universities were producing scores of new programmers - and as far as I can tell the industry has dropped off quite a bit as foreign firms looking to hire Argentine firms and individuals (me, being one fo them) were scared away from doing business here. They have to turn to something with their new-found skills :D

I don't even need to go outside the family to be overwhelmed. Here's some things my kid (Stephen D Larson) is into.

He has an Argentine citizenship option, so if he really wants to hack ... Hey! Maybe it was him who invaded my brain!

they have, mexico, brazil, spain, the usa, australia, new zealand, uk, ireland etc etc.

Tonnes of developers have fled the country. With some countries like ireland and new zealand basically having visa's for argy kids (i.e. new graduates) to go live and work for 2-3 years with little regulation they've just packed up and left.
