Best Way to get Puerto Madryn/Peninsula Valdez

Hi. What is the best way to get to Peninsula Valdez from Buenos Aires? Are there places to stay there?

i went by flying to Trelew, then renting a car. I highly recommend renting a car as it gives you the most flexibility to see the area. You can stay in Puerto Madryn, which is an ugly city, but has all the amenities you need. There are a few places to stay on the peninsula itself, such ac el pedral and rincon chico, but these will be pricey.

On the peninsula Puerto Piramides is also lovely place to stay but like everywhere else around there it is expensive and gets booked up very quickly. The OP doesn't say whether staying on the peninsula - as opposed to staying nearby and hiring a car - is essential for their enjoyment but if it isn't, I'd go along with Luddite's suggestion.

Thanks for the information, all. I'm interested in whale watching at Peninsula Valdez, not necessarily on staying there. We don't drive though. Are there good buses?
