Best way to make international calls

I used to use "WePhone" and "Rebtel" to make my calls to CanadaPensionPlan and the banks ,,, etc.
These are very long waiting calls. Could take even hour to get through. But recently no luck.
Appreciate suggestions for alternatives

tello has been excellent ... very accommodating human customer service ... you can set up an account online from here if your phone can handle an ecard ... and only $5 per month

For almost 20 years I have used google voice, originally called Grandcentral, to make free calls to US and Canada +1 international calling code. including 800 numbers. When I need 8 hour or longer calls I have to call back when the automatic disconnect kicks in at 4 hour limit. Has always been my primary professional phone when calling from USA or Argentina. Mostly from the computer with a headset and a comfortable chair. Though in the early years I forwarded, or did a call back, to my Vonage hardware.

Now I find the Google Voice app installed on IPad or Android is also a good option when away from the desk.

Paid version for larger businesses too, but the free does me fine. You will need to prove ownership of a USA phone number, for the free setup, if you do not already have GV.
