We are packing our stuff from Italy to Argentina, my boyfriend is a citizen returning after and absence of more of 2 years.
At the Argentina consulate in Milan we were told that our Bill of material should simply list the number of boxes and what's inside them, and not to mix up stuff (e.g. no kitchenware with clothes). And for electronics good, we must specify their brand.
Furthermore, they said we can add boxes even after they stamp the BoM, which sounds too good to be true and frankly pointless to have the list stamped ( ).

They simply asked for a thing such as:
Box #1 - Kitchenware
Box #2 - Clothes
Box #3 - Clothes
Box #4 - Clothes
Box #5 - House ware
Box #6 - Bedding
Box #7 - Kitchen appliance by Kenwood
Box #8 - Vacuum cleaner by Dyson
...

But today a moving company told us that we need a detailed list of what's inside of each box, so that we can't simply label them as clothes, we have to state 5 pairs of pants, 7 shirts, 2 bags.
Is that true?!
We tried to phone Afip -Aduane but their phone was busy...

Please tell me we don't need to unpack each box to make a detailed list :(

Hi,

No need to write down every single thing that you are packing. When we moved with my GF in 2013 we just wrote down some things that were inside the box, we never had a problem.

Saludos
