I have heard that the largest book fair in South America takes place in Buenos Aires annually. I am trying to find information (preferably in English) about this event, when it occurs and what it encompasses. Thank you for any help.

feria de libros at La Rural - closes soon.
I went to have a look - its extremely tedious.
masses of childrens pulp, book sale pulp and loosely related PR for institutions and countries.

34th Annual International FERIA del LIBRO de Buenos Aires
April 24th-May 12
www.el-libro.org.ar
Sunday-Thursday: 2:00pm-10:00pm
Friday&Saturday: 2:00pm-11:00pm

"La Rural" (Predio Ferial de Buenos Aires) @ Plaza Italia
There is usually a mob scene to buy tickets (Ar$10) right at the corner on Santa Fe, but if you walk down Av. Sarmiento, you can literally buy tickets through the fence (there is a ticket trailer set up on the inside of the fence) and you won't have to wait at all. Then you walk in the gate right next to the ticket stand.
"La Rural" is basically Buenos Aires' CONVENTION CENTER.

Thank you for the responses and the link. I didn't think it was underway now, but it's good to have the dates for next year... I am currently in Washington, DC, not yet in Buenos Aires. I'll check the web site, but assume it is the same period annually. Thanks again.
