A expat friend writes a blog about his life in Paris. He is forever reviewing books in English about Paris. I can't find much at all in English about BA or Argentina. I read this entertaining and accurate book over a decade ago:

https://www.amazon.com/Times-Buenos-Aires-Miranda-France/dp/0880016655

Are there other books I have missed?

Sounds like you're talking about Terrance Gelenter.

Don't Fry For Me, Argentina by Dan Perlman.

Chris.
I lived through the period 1999 into 2002 right before the default when the author Miranda France lived here.
I would be interested to know what you found to be "entertaining and accurate" about her book.
Maybe she knew beforehand what a mess she would probably find and was able to capitalize on other people's misfortune
Something like some interns at The Bubble do also-
Better she should just write about in her native England which she better knows and understands.
