just emailed this to a friend, thought i'd add on here

bus (from bsas): andesmar, primer class/cama is worth the extra $
hostel Damajuana, nice, great backyard/common area- all the nightlife is around here
Cacheuta Natural Hot Spring near Mendoza http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Q_LW7rkxyA - book at hostel,
bike tour: http://mrhugobikes.com/ -usually free transfer out to his bike place if you arrange with hostel, and its the one that most people use, there's like 3-4 bodegas i def recommend to check on the tour, but his map isnt working so i dont remember names
if you want to super splurge, get a ride out to septima bodega - http://www.stylegourmet.com/wine/tas00233.htm = 5 course meal with tasting, with amazing views overlooking the andes, something like 150 pp, + ride to get there (rent a taxi by the hour (approx 40-60 pesos per hour), its about 45 min outside of mendoza city center

Hey, thanks for the info. Trying to go March 20-24, 2012. Thing is, the buses aren't much cheaper than a roundtrip flight, unless you get the cheapest seat (which doesn't seem too comfortable for 14 hours. Damajuana looks awesome and we're trying to book that now.

Are there any other bus companies that offer a cheaper rates. $246USD for a bus compared to $260 flight doesn't seem to make much sense.

You can check www.plataforma10.com for the bus rates. I think they list all of the bus companies. Its basically like kayak.com or travelocity. It is undergoing maintenance right now, but should be back up in the morning.

Ya, the prices are the same on that site as well. Found one for about $176 roundtrip, but it's Semi-cama. I think I can rough it for the 14 hour ride. Thanks a lot for the info. Cheers.
