I am already hearing about some of this change- I know artists who have gotten apartments to use as studios and informal gallery space in retiro near florida. I wont mind seeing less discount leather jacket stores, or knockoff nikes, and if rents come down, we will see more galleries, small boutiques, and restaurant startups in the neighborhood, as the buildings are wonderful, its fully served by colectivos and subte, and there are still a fair amount of old businesses that will survive. Several years ago, I got a studio space in a galeria near Florida, and I am very happy I did so. Certainly, not every building or galeria will survive, but many will come back, with different uses, in the next few years.
