From https://www.batravelguide.com (a great site for what's happening in Buenos Aires in English):

On 27 and 28 Oct many public buildings will be open to the public. This is the official site that you have to register at: http://www.openhousebsas.org and there is a list of the buildings.

And this is the official site with an interactive map: http://www.openhousebsas.org

Two questions:

1. How do you register? I've been to the sites but can't figure out how to register. Is it register in general or register for each building?

2. Which building are the stars? The prettiest? The most interesting? Opinions?

Thanks, T/

1- Registering opens at 21.00 tonight so maybe it will become obvious how to do it after then?

2-I think it depends on what you've seen already and where you've been before and whether you have a special interest in architecture or engineering etc. Remember, many of these buildings such as the Palacio de Aguas and the Barolo open up behind the scenes for visitors on a regular basis so you don't have to cram them into your programme if you don't want to. Likewise churches. On the other hand projects like Villa 31 and the LInea E Extension won't be accessible at other times. Where would I recommend? I love backstage theatres - the roar of the greasepaint, the smell of the crowd etc - and several are open. The La Prensa building is gorgeous but you can go at other times. MARQ is good. The Perfil Offices could be interesting in a Lou Grant kindova way. I expect that if you just stick a pin in a map at random and go to the nearest opening it will be good.

There are two houses in my neighborhood that I've noted on my calendar for tours on Sat & Sun. You can search by barrio.

Thanks to Tom for letting us know about the annual Open House.

Today is the last day of Buenos Aires Open House. Which houses are you visiting?

The 2019 Open House Buenos Aires is Nov 9 & 10.

Another annual open house for the city to add to your calendar is Nov 2

The complete schedule is posted online where you can search by barrio or Comuna to find what's going on near home.
