regardless on where you stand on the issues of assault weapons or arizona's recent immigration laws, since when did we start allowing foreign heads of state to address our congress on how we should be deciding our policies?
on top of it all, calderon, who is himself a fraud, directly links the spike of violence in mexico to the 2004 assault weapons ban. ban or no ban, the mexican drug lords, gangs and crooked cops will never have a problem getting access to assault weapons.
to drive the knife deeper, obama states "in the 21st century we are defined not by our borders but by our bonds". oh really? i had no idea that sovereign nations were no longer defined by borders.
i believe in maintaining good relations with your neighbors but why are we kowtowing to a foreign head of state on our own soil? what do you think the reaction would be if obama went down to mexico and made a similar speech in an admonishing tone to the mexican congress? would it be seen the same way? me thinks not.
