Hi expats! My name is Evan, and I work with Mate Club de Conversación. Together with the U.S. Embassy in Argentina and the Instituto Cultural Argentino Norteamericano (ICANA) we're organizing the Buenos Aires Book Swap & Bilingual Poetry Slam, on Friday, February 23rd from 6 to 8 pm, in the ICANA Center. This is a completely free event with a very simple premise: you bring a book, and you take home a different one, after a few hours of live poetry and mingling with avid readers from all over the world. Though the event is free, for security reasons it is absolutely necessary to sign up beforehand, via this link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdDXrwfKXHBT3Eky9eetIaEUvtDwgBTRkC7ABxfz6bUeTMr8Q/viewform

We'll be opening the event with a Bilingual Poetry Slam, which means we're inviting all poets and writers in the Buenos Aires area to share their work with us. This year's theme is "VIAJAR". The submissions may be in Spanish, English, or a mix of both languages. Again, it's completely free to participate, the writers keep the rights to their work, the finalists will read at the event and receive prizes, and the winner - decided by popular vote - will take home additional prizes. You have until February 15th to submit your work for consideration to [email protected]. More information and conditions can be found here: http://www.mate-club.com.ar/partici...mparti-tu-poesia-o-cuento-corto-sobre-viajar/

I'm more than happy to answer any questions about the event, and hope to see some fellow expats on the 23rd!
