Never owned a car in S. America so it's one of those words/things I never bothered learning about. I'm asking for an expat who does have a car and needs to replace a busted headlight lens.

Does such an animal exist in Argentina, and if so, what are they called?

The area near Warnes and Juan B Justo in Paternal is a very good suggestion. Most usable parts get resold there. There are places that specialize in interiors, or lighting, or brakes, and usually they have both new and used parts. Actual junkyards are much farther out, and usually more musuem than business. Great junkyards in Uruguay, though the cars are usually very old.

Focos or faros, you can search for them on ML.
I know those words, I was looking for the term used for an auto junkyard, Pick-Ur-Own part place, or just used auto parts store.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far, but located near Cordoba, not CABA. Though I'll look into those places to see if maybe they ship or just for more information.

I figured such places would exist. Just not sure of what they're called.
