This is why I will never transfer my money to Argentina: if a bank thinks a transfer from your account is "suspect", they just block your account:


The banks here are really concerned that you manage your money well, it is important you justify to them whatever you do with your money.
 
That could happen anywhere, it’s “shoot first, ask questions later”.
 
Another Argentine paradox:
1. Government wants the population to “bancarize” to ensure everyone pays taxes and can get their handouts, fair enough.
2. Government pressures banks to cut people off from their money to “better be safe than sorry.”
3. People don’t trust banks and continue with hiding their money under their mattresses at home and using cash for everything instead, sans IVA.
4. Back to point number one.
