Whats the best way for me to change Pounds to pesos?

I always used to go to one of the many casa de cambios before Christina limited currency exchange and they all closed. Are there any now it has been lifted or is my best be going to a bank ?

Cheers

say dan. not the expert on pounds, but dollars its always best to convert in la casa de cambio. if you look for them they are always close. you can compare rates. got 16.50 to the dollar yesterday.,

It has never been easy to buy or sell GBP in the last few years . Two or three of the sepcialists in pounds shu their doors during the cepo.

banco nacion will give you the officail rate and if you are close to a Banco Piano , so will they.

With regard to the other banks , you may have to go to the Head office.

If you havent left the UK , I would bring USD or Euros.

Its just so much easier.

The other possibility is to find someone who is travelling to the UK and need UK notes...

Just sent you a PM. I may be able to help.

You can easily change pounds to pesos on Calle Florida. We got 18.5 pesos to the pound a few weeks ago.

That highlights the problem of Pounds . The official rate has been around 19.20 - 20.00 for the last month or so.

An Argentine who wants to buy pounds is paying around 22 at the moment .

A private deal between two individuals at 21 would be decent for both

Thanks guys,

Can anyone recommend me a casa de cambio around the nuñez/belgrano area??

19.6 pesos to the pound on xe.com. Why would you except to receive more than the freely tradable rate? 19 would be a great deal, but I wouldn't expect it as £ aren't as desirable as $.

Dollar-peso currently at 15.9 on xe.com. Anything close to that would be fine for the dollar.
