At least two Argentinians have told me Chinese restaurants here serve pigeon, rat, etc., instead of real meat, to save money...I don't know if it's true might just be a local rumor...but I wouldn't be surprised...

I've heard the exact same thing in my country. It's just a racist rumor.
There is plenty of crappy meat out there. It would never make any economical sense using pigeons or rats to make meat out of anyways.

There are plenty of Chinese restaurants and they will only deliver locally.
