Interesting.

At the same time Moreno asked for a blue dollar at 8.50 max (link at the end), with some raids announced for monday/tuesday.
Passed this effect (next Wednesday?), will the dollar reach 9 by the end of next week?

Sounds like we're heading towards an official triple exchange rate in the next weeks.

Quite sure there is not one investment instrument remaining within Argentina that has not been mandated to divest its foreign assets , including insurance underwriters. All the eggs are in one basket: Argentina. Risky stuff. Will not be a dime for seed money if this thing fails.

Be intresting to see if this affects Xoom's ability to operate at near the Blue rate, as I was under the impresion that that they were using a reverse swap to bring money into the country.

Most people doing contado con liquidación today can do this with Argentine securities that trade as ADRs in the US. So as long as Argentine companies are going to continue to be traded abroad, CCL is still going to be possible.

And what Argentine ADR is showing any gains in past year or so?

It doesn't matter if they are showing gains or losing big time. If you do CCL properly you buy in one country and sell in another at the exact same time, so you don't have any market risk.

Blue Chip Swap: RIP
Are you sure? The amendment only defines how an Argentine CEDER should be structured and valued.

So from April 30th products like BCBA:IBM, BCBA:MSFT, BCBA:XOM will no longer work.

Blue chip swaps using BCBA:TS/NYSE:TS will continue to work for the average punter. All that has changed is you're using companies with less market capitalisation - ergo more volatility.

The amendment effects the investors appetite for risk - not their ability to trade. Or am I missing something?
