to make it short and simple :

I "lost" a passport, went to embassy got "emergency passport" then later the next morning my "stolen one" magically appeared in a very common spot. AFTER ripping the room apart in panic for 5 days.

Im sure your LOL by now ... bet you can't guess where I'm from ;) SO .. then I took void passport BACK to embassy to report it now as found .. lady at desk goes WOW!! so my now defunct passport has holes in, the one with "original visa" I was presented upon entree

Do I need to go back and get a NEW visa to exit .. OR will they respect the "original visa" at border run/airport and such

hope this fun story/question made your day

I will be going to travel agent of coarse but thought I could get some similar story ect

cheers

You will have to carry both pasports, the one that is still in use and the one that with the original visa.

My husband had to get a new pasport because his was completely full, his old one is now missing a 'corner', he has to carry both pasports when he leaves or enters the country. When his visa is renewed, he can leave the old one at home... He has been carrying his 2 pasports around for the last 6 months.

Not sure if that was clear enough: you do not have to renew your visa : maybe your pasport as such is not valid anymore, but the visa still is. When you renew it (at due time), do it in your new pasport.

i have an expired passport with my visa in it, as well as my new passport..unfortunately i must carry both passports around until i get a new visa. And to make matters more fun, all legal documents with migraciones have to have Passport #### (old), and #### (new).

I had my passport pick pocketed here in 2007. When i left the country i just showed the letter from police (re stolen passport) and my new passport, no problems at immigration.
