with subway stops layered in properly? I see the Subway map and it looks to run different from the layout of the city?

Can someone recommend one?

If you go to any subway ticket office they will give a free subway map, showing all lines, stops, street layout.
In general, the A line runs along Rivadavia Av
B line runs like Corrientes Av
D line runs thru most of Santa Fe Av
Then there is line that connects both main train stations, Retiro and Constitucion.

Have you tried this?

As you've already been told about the subway map, maybe you'd like to check the online application. It's quite helpful, as you can insert the locations and it shows you how to get from point A to point B, with all possible combinations - colectivo, subway, walking in between.
