Hi folks,

I hate doing this, but I have two dogs that I need to put up for adoption.

Both of them were abandoned by neighbours of ours, and we have been caring for them for a while now (since we have a patio) but we are moving to an apartment and won´t be able to keep them.

The first dog is Terry. He is around 13 years old, and looks pretty similar to an American springer spaniel. He´s still pretty sprightly for an older dog, but is pretty happy to just lounge around most of the day too. He´s still able to learn new things, and loves cuddles.

The second dog is Catalina. She is probably not much older than two years old. She is a cross-breed, but looks pretty much like a German Shepherd, and has the intelligence and temperament of a ´police dog´ (i.e. she is a naturally good guard dog). She is a really beautiful dog, very intelligent, affectionate, and playful and obedient. She is also castrated. She´d be best for someone who has a patio and time to spend with her, as she´s pretty energetic and being intelligent, can get bored. She also is a fiend for cuddles.

Both of the dogs were either a bit neglected or mistreated by their previous owners, and so because we have shown them a lot of love, they are pretty faithful (especially Catalina). I thought it was just puppies who follow you everywhere, but these two follow me everywhere when I´m at home! So if you take one of these babies, expect a very faithful friend (if you truly care for them).

If anyone is able to adopt a dog, please consider one of these two lovely creatures. I´m not at home so can´t post photos right now, but will try and do so soon.

From our experience Facebook is the best place for puppy/dog adoption, try Nos Adoptan.

For more options put "adopta mascota" into facebook search.

^^ what he said, we were able to adopt out a couple of strays over the years on facebook by sending private messages to those pages with all the details and pictures, they're really good about spreading the message.

For example, we've adopted from and out on this site:

https://www.facebook.com/animales.comunadoce

Good luck!!

There are several pet associations depending on your area. I am in contact with Bicheras de Boulogne which operates in the Northern area.
Best thing is to send them a PM with some pictures and a description of the situation/dog history and they will publish an ad on their page and spread the word.
