Does anybody know what is open over the Easter weekend? Are supermarkets, restaurants and shops open?

Or, are there any special events on over this time? I did read somewhere that there is a procession through the streets in downtown. Does anyone have any info on this? What and where exactly?

Many thanks

Matt

Matt...expect most things to be closed Friday afternoon and Sunday.....Supermarkets like coto(the big chains) are usually closed all day Easter Sunday.....The Chinos (smaller food stores) will open in the morning, close between 2pm and reopen at 5 (sometimes) Panacerias(bakeries ) are usually open on Sunday morning on Easter but close early......Shops will be closed.....some shopping malls may be open, but then I am not a mall rat! CHURCHES ARE CLOSED!!!!!!!! JUST JOKING!!!!!!!! It is wise to stock up on your fish and meat Tuesday or Wednesday as the butchers will be swarmed on Thursday and Friday morning.....Be sure to put the fish in the freezer cuz when you buy fish in Buenos Aires it is usually on it's last leg(or fin). Restaurants will be open and crowded, and many will increase their prices for the day Have a great Easte!
