A year after becoming president, Javier Milei has been praised inside and outside Argentina for reining in galloping inflation. But his economic policies have inflicted widespread hardship.

Has it been tamed? Isn't the government desperate for another massive IMF loan? How can the debt ever be paid off? It seems that it will have to be perpetually renegotiated. Doesn't that limit Argentina' sovereignty?

So many questions, so few answers. This chasing after new IMF loans is something I don't understand. Isn't that what Massa and Guzman used to do?

I am continually amazed that people actually expect that Milei will do what he says, instead of the actual government, which is mostly La Casta, continuing to do what it has actually done.
I know I am dating myself here, but its kind of like Krazy Kat thinking Ignatz loves her, but every time, he throws that brick.
Argentina has successfully defaulted on IMF loans three times in the last 20 odd years.
The actual rich people who run this country (Caputo, Bullrich, etc) know that they will have no problem doing it again.

The just let Milei stand in front, and say whatever comes in his head.

A Krazy Kat reference! Nice!

As sure as the sun rises in the east, Argentina will be on it's knees for the IMF. We were also supposed to be dollarized, no more BCRA, no more peso since it's worth less than shit, etc. yet here we are. Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.
