Don't know if you guys heard but...

Yahoo (and a bunch of other) email addresses and passwords have been posted on a Russian website.

Go to the following link to make sure your information has not been compromised:

http://dazzlepod.com/yahoo/

Before people start to panic, the website above only has the email addresses that were compromised. The website that has the passwords is overloaded with people wanting in on others' information (lowlife bastards) so all you need to do is enter your email address in the search box and make sure you weren't one of the people compromised. That's all.

I did and my yahoo addresses were not compromised.

Whew!

its probably a good idea for people to have some software that stores their passwords and for it to generate good long individual passwords for each site.

Many many people use the same passwords for their email/websites etc etc and because you have many website owners who don't encrypt their databases properly you could end up with someone having access to everything.

I personally use 1password linked to my Dropbox so i can easily access my passwords wherever i need them.

although there are many other systems like KeePass.
