Does anyone know a place to get UK/US magazines ???
am about to have a stay in hospital and know some easy trash would cheer me
up.

If you'll have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone I recommend Zinio. Their software renders magazines beautifully on devices with good displays and you can order subscriptions for thousands of magazines.

There's a news stand in Las Canitas on Migueletes y Maure (right next to Persicos) and another in Recoleta outside the Alvear Hotel that both sell a selection of US magazines. Beware though - the import taxes on magazines are huge, so be prepared to pay a heavy price (most start from around $60 pesos).
