There will be a free concert at the Bibliotecha National on Friday, May 20
at 7pm. This will be a special concert of a new contemporary music group,
Ensemble 34, made up the best Argentine musicians from the Teatro Colon.
They are collaborating with American guest conductor David Milnes and
playing chamber music by American composers Edmund Campion, Pablo Ortiz
(born in Argentina), Yiorgos Vassiladonakis, Keeril Makan, and Cindy Cox.
Cox will be in attendance at the concert. Here is a link to the
Bibliotecha National’s website:

The ensemble will be performing Campion’s Repetition 75, Ortiz’s
Hipermilonga, Vassilandonakis’ Réfractions d'une trajectoire sans but,
Makan’s Afterglow, and Cox’s Transfigurations of Grief. These works were
all written within the last decade, and all will be Argentine premieres.

This is a nice opportunity to see the best musicians in Argentina (for
free!) playing an unusual program of cutting-edge contemporary
compositions.

David Milnes is a world renowned conductor. He is definitely worth seeing. And the compositions are sublime.
