Fingerprints / expired visa ...

I'm applying for a work visa here (B.A.) . I need to get fingerprinted for the the F.B.I. background check. Will the local police care that I've overstayed my tourist visa, or should I make a Colonia run before I get printed ????
 
I have done my fingerprints twice for the FBI background check (both times with a non-expired visa, tourist and work), but they never have asked me for any proof of identity.
