Free LED bulbs from the City

Three of the five halogen fixtures I had installed many years ago are still functioning and rarely need to replace the tiny bulbs.
My challenge is the two lamps I need for reading which have LEDs.
Thanks for the suggestions.
The halogen bulbs I found in ML are standard size and fit in normal bulb sockets, the same as fluorescent and LED bulbs.

Just to add a couple things to Ries' post:

  • I had cataract surgery on both eyes here in Argentina in 2007, without problems, and I know at least a dozen people who also have had cataract surgery here, also without problems. Cataract surgery is extremely common (as are cataracts).
  • You can buy dimmable LED lights here. If you decide to use them, you need to buy dimmers for them. I bought both of these items a few weeks ago (before I read the comment that LED bulbs might possibly be harmful), but I have not installed them, so I can't yet comment on how they are. The websites that suggest that there may be a danger or problems from using LED lights suggest buying dimmable bulbs.
  • If you have cataracts, sooner or later you're probably going to need surgery. They don't get better, and they generally get much worse. When I first found out I had cataracts, I could still see almost perfectly fine. Within two years, I practically couldn't see at all.

I regret exchanging incandescent bulbs for the harmful LEDs in 2018. They came with no warning about causing damage to the eyes. The eye doctor mentioned cataracts after my 2019 eye exam. An eye doctor suggested I have surgery in 2024. At first I thought, okay. But I've reconsidered after knowing the risks.

I searched MercadoLibre hoping to find incandescents bulbs. I'd pay any price to replace the four LEDs I avoid using at home.
I just began replacing the LED bulbs that I have been using for years:

With these:

The replacements are also LED, but the difference is amazing. The Sica bulbs were "blanco cálido" (supposedly warm), but the Candela filamentos are SO much warmer and "easy on the eyes" so to speak. The fact that they are also LED may not make them less harmful compared to the incandescents, but I will buy two more packs of five, enough to replace all of the bulbs in the house. Even using fifteen of them at the same time (which will never happen) would only draw 60 watts.

PS: If I had previously tried just one of the filament bulbs, I would have replaced all of the old ones immediately.

PS2: The bulbs I bought are currently lowest price on Mercado Libre and qualify for free shipping on most orders of products in the "full" category that excede $33.000.

I regret changing incandescent bulbs for LEDs. The city streets are lit with LEDs that do their damage.

I found a lighting shop that has a small supply of incandescent bulbs. My last purchase was a 15 watt green incandescent lamp that is so easy on the eyes. I use it in the bedroom.

I no longer need to wear reading glasses after many years. I had to stop wearing sunglasses with lenses for distance. I can read at arm's length from the tablet and laptop. I learned that eggs, avocado, and carrots feed the eyes, so I eat them every day.
