Heyy:)
I have really.. really atrocious hair, one that frizzes up as it dries and can't be tamed xD
I have bleached it in the past so no perms work until it grows out undamaged, and in USA I've used John Frida frizz control serum and mousse xD
I haven't been able to find John Frida here at all, and I've heard that Moroccan Oil is worth paying for.
Anyone have any idea on where to find any of them or anything that you use to calm down frizz and poofy-ness? xD

Moroccan oil smooths the hair, but when you go to bed and wake up the next day it's worse than ever. Try using a water filter on your shower heard. That helped me a lot. Without a filter my hair gets crispy.

Go to one of the beauty stores like Pigmento / Las Margaritas / Crayon, you'll find a range of products that might help -- Biferdil and Capilatis are good local brands that might have something, but you can browse and see what else there is.

Try having a "shock de keratina" ... it is a treatment that lasts a couple months, and it is recommended to de-frizz hair - costs around 140-200 pesos (depending on hair lenght) in hair salons. So worth it.

They comb your hair strand by strand using this product called keratin which "seals the cuticles of your hair" (whatever that is), thickens hair and gives it shine. After the combing, they blow dry it and flat-iron it. You leave the salon looking idiotic, with hair so straight it's ridiculously unnatural, and can't wash it for one day. But afterwards, it feels soo good. It really leaves it looking healthier and so easy to manage.

Just be cautious if you have greasy hair or an oily forehead - makes it even worse.

Hope it helps.

Frizzy hair - The story of my life!! :p

I paid 400 pesos for some 'keratina' treatment that was no better than a regular blowout / hair straightener. Looked good for 2 days until I washed my hair and it went back to it's former self. A rip off. It probably works differently for different people, but I was so disappointed with it that I never went back to that hair salon.

I brought some Moroccan oil from the States and use it sparingly as I'm not sure when I'll be going back. It helps, but it's no miracle serum. They need to make something that more closely resembles our natural oils - my hair looks best when it's dirty, but by then my scalp needs a wash!

As we're on the subject, has anyone seen any heat protecting spray out there? Supposedly protects hair from getting damaged from blowdrying or ironing. I haven't been able to find it in the stores I frequent.

Thank youu! SO much everyone haha xD
And I actually.. xD My hair's so bad that I actually did get the Keratin treatment in NJ last year I believe, and that lasted 2 days..
So no hopes on the one here lasting for more than that I'd say xD
But thank you, now I know that I really should pack a whole box of beauty products before coming here xD

Many beauty supply stores carry Moroccan oil made bt the brand Biferdel. Yes, heat styling and protective products do exist here in any pharmacy or beauty supply store. One of the problems here is the hard water. I started using a water filter and it's helped a lot. PSA is a well-known brand, or just check on Mecadolibre for other brands.
